Theme Exhibition section for the 2024 Busan International Children’s Book Fair

2024 부산국제아동도서전의 주제관을 디자인하고 시공하였습니다.

2024년 부산국제아동도서전 주제는 라퓨타입니다.
300년 전, 걸리버는 여행길에 라퓨타를 만났습니다.
부산에서 라퓨타를 만난다면, 그것은 걸리버의 것도 아니고 파즈나 시타의 것도 아닙니다. 상상으로 희망으로, 관람객의 라퓨타를 만듭니다.

라퓨타의 섬을 어린이를 위해 지혜의 장면으로 디자인하였습니다.
첫 번째 섬의 이야기는 기르다 (생명, 되살림),
두 번째 섬의 이야기는 날다 (해방),
세 번째 섬의 이야기는 비추다 (평등),
네 번째 섬의 이야기는 이끌리다 (연대, 호기심) 입니다.

사람들은 책으로 꿈을 꾸고, 책으로 세상을 만들어 왔습니다.
그 꿈들을 한 자리에 모아 나누고, 즐기고, 꿈을 실현할 수 있는 방법을 찾는 아이들과 어른들의 라퓨타를 그렸습니다.

컨셉은 “상상의 섬, 라퓨타”입니다.


We designed the Theme Exhibition section for the 2024 Busan International Children’s Book Fair (BICBF).

The main theme for 2024 BICBF is ‘Laputa’.
Three hundred years ago, Lemuel Gulliver encountered the Laputa island on his journey.
Meanwhile, if one discovers Laputa in Busan, it will not be Gulliver’s, nor Paz or Sita’s. With imagination and hope, the audience creates a Laputa of their very own.

For children, we displayed four scenes of wisdom across the Laputa island. Each island represents ‘nurturing’ (life), ‘flying’ (freedom), ’illuminating’ (equality), and ‘appealing’ (solidarity).

Books have always been a vessel for dreams and a blueprint for new worlds.
We depicted a Laputa where dreams come together to be shared and enjoyed, by children and adults seeking ways to realize their dreams.

In short, the design concept of the Theme Exhibition section is “Laputa, an island of imagination.”
